At the Commodity Classic 2025, Matt Miles and Johnny Verell take a look at the new Demco high-efficiency tender trailer.

00:00:00 We're standing in front of a piece of equipment you might think you don't need. It's a tender trailer. You're saying, oh wait, 00:00:04 I don't need one. I have one. But your tender trailer might be a cobbled up old flatbed. 00:00:10 You keep adding to it. Adding to it. This my friend Chuck Al with Demco is what I would call the limousine, the Cadillac of tender trailers. 00:00:19 I would agree 100%. Alright. We got Matt Miles and Johnny Rell right here. And Johnny uh, our friend Matt said, you know what, 00:00:26 I didn't think I needed one of these because I had a Tinder trailer, but then I got this and now I'm saving time 00:00:30 and my square's not sitting idly, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. You didn't think you needed this? 00:00:35 No. And and what the difference was, we were talking about that earlier. You know, several years ago we were running a 6,700 sprayer, 00:00:42 had a 400 gallon tank, we had a 1600 gallon water tender. Four times what? 1600? Yep. 00:00:48 So we were able to fill that thing up multiple times out of a pickup hold nurse trailer. 00:00:52 Today our sprayers are a thousand, 1200 gallons. They run faster, bigger booms. They fill up quicker. So number one, you can't take a pull type tender trailer 00:01:02 and fill your sprayer up at once. So number two, that's all you would be doing is pulling it back and forth. 00:01:07 This is very much an efficient piece of machinery. I kind of relate it to a grain cart, to a combine. Yes. You can cut beans and go dump on a truck on the turn road 00:01:17 or you can cut beans and cut dump on the grain cart and he can go to the, to the, to the grain truck. Yeah. Same thing here. So 00:01:23 You'd say it probably isn't even necessary, but all of a sudden it is necessary. You do need the, uh, the device. 00:01:28 'cause otherwise your sprayer's sitting there and that's a very expensive piece of equipment to be sitting around. Yeah. 00:01:32 And and we're just like, Matt, we went from one sprayer, two sprayers, sometimes three sprayers running. 00:01:37 You always need something bigger, more water on hand, stuff like that. So it's been a big deal for us just as far as the volume 00:01:43 of water you can carry and stay in the field longer without having to run back. Because another thing, if we didn't have sprayer 00:01:48 or trailers like this, we'd have to have three or four water trailers running to keep the same amount of equipment. 00:01:52 So it's all about the efficiency piece. Just like That. Mr. Al, the person who's watching this is gonna say, yeah, 00:01:57 okay, so it's just a bigger tank. I'll just take my existing trailer that I've cobbled together over the last 10 years 00:02:01 and I'll just throw a bigger tank on it. You're gonna say not so fast. Not so fast. 'cause you're, this is all plumbed. 00:02:07 It's ready to go center sunk drains. It's, it's just fast. No matter what you do, you're, 00:02:12 you're gonna fill it quicker, get rid of all your time. You're gonna mix quicker than what you would do years ago, you know, by hand and everything. It's all right here. 00:02:20 And you got plenty of places for shuttles for all your chemicals, stuff like that. And you know, I think we've all built trailers in the 00:02:25 past and that's what we had to do. 'cause nobody ever offered anything turnkey. And we would go back and forth 00:02:30 to the parts store a dozen times a day to get the next fitting. Mm-hmm You think you got 'em all. 00:02:34 You buy 10, you still need two more. Yep. So that's another big thing is when this trailer shows up, it's ready to go and roll on. 00:02:39 Yep. I got two tanks. How big are these tanks? 32 50, 6500 total. Okay. And then uh, the biggest sprayer tank is 1500. 00:02:48 Oh 1600. Yeah 1600. So I am gonna be able to fill out of this multiple times obviously. Yep. At four or five times. Right? 00:02:53 About four times. Yeah. So four times. And then, uh, by the way, your big thing on, not only are you feeling faster 00:03:00 and then you're not letting that equipment sit if you come punched it out 'cause you're kind of mathematical what a 00:03:05 sprayer cost you per hour. Per Hour. Yeah. I mean I'm gonna say the raw cost zone is probably about 140 bucks an hour without fuel. And 00:03:12 That may not be counting the person that's sitting inside it. That's right. If he's sitting for an hour, yeah it adds 00:03:16 An hour. But I think a lot of farmers don't realize, you know, you know through the companies that we run with John Deere, 00:03:22 stuff like that, you can actually see how many hours that machine's sitting. It'll make you very upset when you realize you're sitting 00:03:27 20, 30% of that sprayer's life waiting to fill up. How long did it take you to justify the, after you said, I don't need 00:03:33 this, I don't need this, and then you got it. How long did it take you to say, oh man, how'd I get by without 00:03:37 This? Well now I'm trying thinking about getting two Johnny runs multiples. Yeah, because one, 00:03:41 if you're running multiple sprayers are not enough. And and JV made a great point. John Deere operations center shows you 00:03:46 how much time your sprayer sets idle. And when you look at that, it's like bomb goes off in your head. Yeah. 00:03:51 Enough ILE hours can justify buying one piece. It's All because the sprayers have gotten bigger, faster water boats. 00:03:56 Yeah. Right, right, right. Alright Chuck, I would like you to, 'cause I obviously do not run one of these. 00:04:01 I own one of these, like these two guys do. What am I looking at? So you're looking at a 42 foot tender trailer center. 00:04:06 Some drain tanks on each. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I don't know anything about this. Talk to me like I'm four 00:04:12 Center some Shelly does. Shelly often does. Center sub drains are going to empty out completely. It's not an end drain tank where you have 00:04:20 to be on the right angle or anything like that. These are gonna empty out completely. So it's 42 foot. Got it. Your standard boom arm with 30 foot of hose 00:04:27 to get across your ditch or wherever you want to go. So you don't have to keep your square all the way up to street 00:04:32 Away. How long is My away? 30 foot. Okay, so you're 30 foot out there. Okay. And that, that, that tank up there obviously is over 00:04:38 the top where the, the front hitches up and then I, I can access it right here. This cage. This is when uh, the kids are afraid 00:04:44 of gonna getting away or whatcha are you putting this cage? You can lock, Yeah. Lock your children in 00:04:47 there. You Wanna lock your kids or dog in there? That's fine. But it's for two totes and two totes up. The doors swing open. 00:04:54 You also have a sliding door on the front. Keep your empty jugs, your empty boxes. Go ahead. Go ahead and open me up here Chuck. 00:05:00 So I open this up and I got my tote by the way. They call 'em something else I see vs. Or something like that. Some people call it tote farmer's. 00:05:08 Call shuttles Shuttle. Shuttle. Shuttle. So you're running two in I pick up my forklift. 00:05:12 Yep. I put it in here. Tall. Two of them. Two on top. All Right. Yep. So I'm gonna have four 00:05:17 totes in here. Four, Two totes here, two up top. Okay. Two here and two on top. All right. Moving on. Another tank. Yep. 00:05:23 Another 32 50 tank. And this is where it attaches your Oaks. Got it. What else do I need to see 00:05:29 on the other side? Is there anything that we missed? Well that's our John blue pump and our motor, your valve cluster coming in. 00:05:35 Yep. From each tank and then your fills on your driver's side there. Then it's plumbed over here to your cone. 00:05:43 Then your four port mixing system. I Guess now that you have one of these doesn't make you like, you go 00:05:48 to somebody's operation, they're still doing, you know, the hard way and you say, I've got a solution for you. Yep. I've got a better way 00:05:53 Many people walking by today. That's the same thing I've been thinking and thinking and here it is. Thanks. 00:05:58 Just showing us around. His name is Chuck Oall. The company's called Demco. We also were joined by Matt, Matt Miles and Johnny Rell who both own this very piece 00:06:06 of equipment and Matt's gonna probably buying a second one if they wanna learn more about this. 00:06:10 The person that's watching this video here from Commodity Classic, where do they go? Demco products.com. 00:06:15 Dim co products.com. D-E-M-C-O products.com. Till next time, David Mason coming at you from Commodity 00:06:19.885 --> 00:06:20.805
