Stacking Nodes and Taking Names
Matt talks about the three trial plots he is installing today, each with a specific goal.
00:00 Hey guys, just coming to you today on what Lane calls plot day. These different plots that we do on, on, on different fields, you know, 00:07 are designed to piggyback with a herbicide application. That's really important to a farmer to be able to, you know, to be able to piggyback that in. When we have time, 00:16 there's certain windows we get when we have time, when we're doing these plots that, that we'll actually, you know, let the sprayer go ahead and put the herbicide out, 00:24 come right behind it with an additional sprayer, with the, with the application that, uh, that we're testing with our partners. 00:30 The reason we do that is it just gives us a good clean look. Uh, if there's anything, you know, any kind of antagonism, you know, we, we, 00:39 we wanna see that not happen even though you have to ha, you know, most of the time we would be piggybacking. It's just we, when we have time, we, 00:46 we do things a little bit different. We've got a sprayer putting out our post application on our soybeans, and then we've got another sprayer coming behind it, putting these plots out. 00:55 We get 'em exactly where we want 'em, the guy that's putting out the herbicide don't have to go to specific spots, and we're able to, you know, target it, you know, hit the bullseye with it. So, 01:05 uh, the first, the first product we're putting out is a new product from Concept A Agritech. It's called Amino Grow. And Amino Grow is got, uh, 01:13 3% nitrogen and 6% potash in it, plus it's got amino acids. Uh, the, the bulk of the, the mix has got the amino acids in it. And what the amino acids does, 01:24 and we've seen this on on different things we've used them on before, is it will actually stack nodes in the soybeans. And that's something that, 01:32 that's hard to, to find is something that will actually stack nodes in soybeans. Soybeans live so bad, you know, that that's one thing that we try to do. Now, 01:40 early planning is probably the best way to do that. Uh, there's some other products out there. Temple uses several products that, that will actually do that, but this amino grow is supposed to, you know, 01:50 help do that. When you can stack those nodes, you start getting trioli. You know, 01:55 we've got some trioli out here from early planning that are actually just above the co air lead, whether we get to harvest them or not, you know, 02:02 they're gonna be about that high off the ground, we'll see. But every node that we've got, 02:07 even to the first trioli is putting Trioli on in those earlier positions. So, um, you know, hopefully this cemento grow will help that. 02:16 It may double that. Uh, you know, if we can keep a bean that's waist high and, and full, you know, 18 to 21, 22 nodes, then we've hit a home run. 02:24 So the second plot we'll do is, uh, sound Ag and we're using a product called source. Source is a product that is supposed to, uh, 02:34 help with, uh, phosphorus, uh, get more phosphorus into the plant. There's different way places you can run that in your crops. 02:42 We'll run this also at the V4 V five range, uh, to try to, you know, boost the phosphorus in the plant and get the plant to utilize phosphorus that's 02:52 in the soil. It also is supposed to help with nitrogen. So we will also have plot in a corn at, at, I Think it's right at tassel just before tassel. We'll apply, uh, 03:02 application on the corn too. So, uh, source is something we tried, you know, we started trying last year. Uh, they're new in the market and, uh, you know, 03:10 I think there's some good things coming from them. And the third one we'll do today is, uh, nature's Fertilized Nature's, along with, with, you know, several of these other partners is, you know, 03:19 we use that as a grower standard practice. Uh, we've had good results out of, you know, their products before. Behind me, this tote right here, uh, 03:27 is a premix. So we'll, we're fixing to add a little water to this. It's gonna be a gallon of triple option and a quarter to finish line. 03:34 And finish line is a, is a product that we run, you know, across multiple acres on triple option, 03:38 the same way these two combined is gonna be a pretty good load of MP and K, but they'll also have some micronutrients in there also with the finish line 03:48 that will, uh, you know, promote, you know, promote growth, you know, in general. So that's gonna be a V4 V five application on the beans. 03:57 And then, uh, we're gonna do a plot there and we'll have one in the corn too, around the same timeframe. So we're gonna get 'em done and, uh, 04:05 we'll keep you posted with the result.
