00:00 We're taking in Forrow technology and making it even better with a product called Exact Shot. Kelly, you've got this planter right here. 00:06 Use in Forrow technology. We've talked about this in a number of videos in Forrow means you're putting the stuff at time 00:10 of planning exactly where it needs kind of, but not really. Now with exact shot, 00:15 you are putting the stuff exactly where it needs to be. Tell me about the technology. Well, absolutely, you know, 00:21 a typical inferral program would be considered five gallon an acre dribbled down the row. 00:25 And with this technology, mostly fertility products, mostly fertility products, PGRs, you know, insecticides, things like that. 00:31 But with this technology, instead of dribbling five gallons an acre down the row, we can put an exact shot on top of every seed. 00:39 We're getting a concentrated shot on the seed. It saves fertility. In my experience, we can pay for this in a 1500 acres of corn. 00:47 Save fertility, meaning it reduces the amount you're putting out because you're putting exactly where it needs to be. Yes. 00:51 You know, uh, instead of, uh, instead of a five gallon rate, you are putting the same amount of fertility or even a little bit more on every seed, 00:58 but effectively it's a three gallon rate. It's a two and a half gallon rate. You're Not putting it three inches away from the seed. 01:03 Exactly. Kyle Perry with John Deere, is that the right way to describe this? 01:07 It's giving us better placement of generally fertility products, but also pgr and some other things that go in furrow. 01:13 Yeah. It's all about better placement of the, the chemical or whatever the, the fertility that you're trying 01:18 to apply to that product. So with the exact shot as opposed to a continuous dose of fertilizer in a constant stream, we actually dos the seed 01:27 as it comes out of the brush belt. So instead of putting down those five gallons an acre, like Kelly talked about, uh, we're cutting that up to 66%, 01:36 um, savings because you get to choose the dosing length of each seat. So can, can we make the argument that I get 01:43 to run without having to hop out and refill more because now I'm, I'm not having to refill my infra or is it the other stuff that caused me 01:49 to stop the plantar box, et cetera? What, is there any argument can be made there? No, there's a huge argument can be made there. 01:55 I have a 450 gallon tank for inferral on my planter. Five gallon rate every 90 acres I'm stopping. Yep. You know, he's talking cutting at 66%. 02:03 Say we cut it back, say we cut it back to a two gallon rate, two and a half gallon rate. Now every 180 or 200 acres I'm stopping. Yep. 02:10 That's a huge thing for efficiency. One of the biggest hangups that a lot of farmers have to adopt inf furrow is it slows them down. 02:17 This slows you down less. Right. What about the, the reality that there's plenty of farmers that don't even have in furrow technology now, 02:25 this is certainly an add-on for those that have it. Is there, is there a belief that we will have more in forrow technology on Planters five 02:34 and 10 years from now and that this will just almost become ubiquitous, like power locks and air conditioning in a car? 02:40 Yeah, so one of the cool things about Exact Shot is from outta your 25. It's available, available from the factory, 02:45 but we also have it available through Precision Upgrade. So customers can take their existing planter 02:51 and if they want to adopt an in forrow technology, they can adopt, adopt Exact Shot and add it to the machine that they have, um, 02:57 without having to buy a brand new planter. So, All right. I don't wanna get overwhelmed, uh, 03:00 because technology, you know, it's, it's hard. And then the older you get, the harder it becomes. Is this make life more complicated than it's really worth? 03:07 Is this or is this, uh, is this become, does this become like, oh yeah, it's no big deal. I monitor it, uh, with a screen in my com in my tractor. 03:14 You're gonna monitor screen in your tractor. And the nice thing about having integrated with John Deere, it's gonna be on the command center. 03:20 You're not gonna add a screen. This, this is easy from day one. Did you use this this year? 03:25 Uh, we have used the product, yes. Okay. And do you think that there's a yield component to this? 03:30 Can you justify and add an expense on this, on a yield basis? In a trial we had last fall, it was nine bushel. 03:35 I didn't think it'd be anything. I thought the benefit of this product right, would only be in the savings. 03:40 I did not think that it would be any yield benefit, but it was, and it was replicated three times. It's great data. 03:46 Last question, Kyle, if I've got a piece of equipment, a John Deere planter from three, four years ago before you had this technology, is it Retrofittable? 03:54 Yes. Yep. That, that's the part of the Precision upgrades portfolio is we retrofit that back, um, 03:59 To existing. You gotta bring it to the shop or you come to the farm. Uh, you can, the customers can install theirselves. Okay. 04:04 They can work with their John Deere dealer to have it installed, or they can use John Deere installation services. 04:08 Got it. Look for more great content, just like this extreme mag.farm, we're talking to our free out and John Deere. 04:13 We've got a whole bunch, hundreds, hundreds of videos just like this. We've got field days. You know what, we're here 04:18 to help you upgrade your farming operation. That's what we're doing here at Extreme Ag five.
