Bigger and Heavier Kernels
The best way for Kevin to figure out if he wants to use a product on his farm is to just put it into an application and see how it performs. He talks about the Impulse Corn product he is trialing from Spraytec. Stay-tuned to see if it performs as he needs it to in the 4th quarter of the season.
00:00 Uh, stream Ag Field report here today. Um, straight out of the sprayer spraying fungicide on corn. We've been doing a lot of work with a company called Spray Tech and um, 00:11 they're adjuvants, which is full tech is just a grower standard for us. We use it all the way across the farm at all times. 00:19 They wanted us to test that product, called it impulse Corn. We also have done this on our soybeans. They've got an impulse soybean product. 00:28 It's pretty interesting when you see is four different components and you put 'em in 1, 2, 3, 4. Um, 00:37 it's a 100 acre mixture in that box, so it's, it's pretty strong. A lot of micros nutrients in there, uh, your MP and K and other products in as well. 00:49 It's just unbelievable all the products that's in that combination. And so the best way for me to figure out whether this is something that I want 00:59 to use on my farm or pass along for our members to use on theirs is just put it out here in regular our application. 01:06 So today we've got my grower standard that I normally use. I pulled the fertility side of it out and added the impulse 01:17 corn to that, uh, application. And we're doing a 80 acre treatment. So there's a hundred acres. Actually I'm doing 40 acres on the upland, which is, uh, 01:31 that'll gimme about a 40 acre check. I've got it strapped up in some of the fields and then a couple fields I left completely out. Then the, um, the other, the river bottoms, 01:43 it'll be 45 acres there. And then we got another a hundred acre trial we're going to do somewhere else, uh, probably in the river bottoms on a later for any corn, 01:53 which is not as far along as this. This corn's about R three to pushing R four and we're putting a later season fungicide application on at this time. 02:04 So this is a normal pass that's not requiring anything extra. Um, so 02:12 that's how I like it fit in our program compatibility mixture wise with the product and with the fungicides and the other products that I normally 02:22 run, I've not had any issues on it. With this load right here. I've sprayed half to load out with no issues. Hopefully they won't be any. 02:31 The, uh, you got three liquid products and one dry product that you put in and uh, it gets your boron in there. Again, it does very well, very easy to use. Um, 02:43 don't know what the ROIs going to be, but we're definitely going to be getting that. And our number one goal with this product right now is enhancing grain, 02:52 fuel and increasing test weight kernels all the way around the year has done been set. Our length of 02:58 Kernels is pretty well set. Uh, obviously they could abort back. We don't want 'em to do that, but at the end of the day, 03:06 what I'm after in this fourth quarter of this corn crop, I am really wanting to increase that kernel size and the density of that kernel 03:15 to increase that kernel weight. That is big yield. That's easy yield. We've done set the kernels, we've done, everything's done. 03:23 We've just gotta finish this crop and that's where I'm wanting to see if this product is going to help like some of the other products that I use on my farm 03:30 that's been proven. If you have any questions, please send us the emails on our website. Um, all the members you got, go to that part of the website, 03:41 put your questions in. Um, go ahead and leave your name and your phone number. 'cause this lots of times it's easier for us guys, 03:47 just pick upon and call you on certain things, especially when you're long-winded like I am. I can't just answer a question, yes or no. Very good. Y'all stay safe. See you.
