00:00 Been really hot and dry here in North Carolina and South Carolina. It's, it's been pretty brutal. 00:05 Some corn insurance adjusters has already, um, told 'em to bush hog it. It's pretty bad as the rumors I'm hearing. 00:12 I've seen some rough stuff, um, as well. We're kind of blessed right where we are. We seem to be having a little bit better 00:20 situation in this river valley. We're, we're still in the game playing today. We're out here pre Tsel. 00:26 This is just before the tsel comes out towards the big top real good areas. You'll see a tassel getting ready to poke through, 00:33 probably be out by next 24, 48 hours. We are spraying a product called Tur Mar from Risom. We're getting this out with our fungicide 00:43 and our foliar fertilizers with a goal of reducing stress. Now, when we planted this corn, we put, uh, 00:50 products in like radiate, uh, different products of that nature accomplished max. And that was set the stage as what as the plant. 01:00 Dr. Lee Lubert tells us, says You gotta set the stage in these plants and it starts at planting. 01:06 And then through the different SI times, there are some rumors going around of people recommended salesman recommended to use Radiate 01:14 with your terramar at fungicide. Do not do that. That is not good. Lee and I talked yesterday 01:22 and just wanted to verify what I was hearing. I didn't think it was right. And he said, please, 01:27 after V eight, do not use those cytocons. They're great products to used properly. They're not used properly. They can be kind of a bad day. 01:36 So, uh, just wanted to pass that along. Heat indexes of a hundred degrees this week. Uh, it's been very hot the last several days last week. 01:46 We're very dry. We do have rain into forecast now as of last night. We're hoping the good Lord, uh, does grant us those showers. 01:55 But our goal is to go into pollination with a very healthy, hearty plant with as big a defense mechanism 02:03 as we can build in it. The Terramar technology is, is something that we're using to help aid in that. 02:11 Try to give it every opportunity we can to get through this stressful time, keep the ethylene down in the plant 02:17 and really looking forward to seeing how this works out. We've been testing this product for several years now 02:23 with Extreme Act has had pretty good success. Kelly and the guys out in Iowa have, have had extreme success with it. 02:31 My understanding is that is actually a grower standard for them. Now, we have not made it a grower standard yet, 02:37 but we have increased it to, uh, 1200 acres of our 3000 acres of corn. So it's basically a, a third 02:45 of our corn crop is in our grower standard. If it continues to shine as what we've seen in these research blocks, we absolutely will be increasing those 02:55 acres and bringing into a grower standard practice. So y'all, I hope this helps you a little bit. 03:00 Again, the product is terramark at planting. We had put in a product accomplished Max and radiate these products. 03:08 It's just building that stage to reduce the stress in the plant. And what I'm seeing today versus riding 03:14 through the crop versus what I've been seeing in the middle of the day when this corn's rolled up tight. 03:19 I'm very pleased with the outcome that we're seeing right now. We don't have a perfect crop. By no means. 03:25 We certainly don't have a record crop like USDA thinks we're going to grow, but, um, we're still hitting the ball game. 03:31 Say we, we going to play this thing out. Hopefully the good Lord gives us some rain this week. And, uh, when y'all watch this video, I'll, 03:38 I'll know we got the rain. Take care of you.
